September is our new favorite month. We just celebrated our 40th birthday at the beginning of the month and now there’s already another reason to toast: We were honored with no less than six (!) international awards. Bring on the sparkling wine!

All good things are ...

4 Summit Awards

We received no less than four awards at the International Summit Award, which is regarded worldwide as the benchmark for outstanding design, creativity and effectiveness in the advertising and marketing industry. We are particularly proud of the gold medal in the “Package Design” category for our innovative recycling mailing for our long-standing client Cristallo Glas.

Our collaboration with Kastner & Öhler has once again paid off twice over, with two of our current campaigns winning awards: Silver for the spring/summer campaign Farbenfrech and Bronze for the sustainability campaign Greenspiration. The Rauhnächte Coaching Box, an in-house project by Susanne Hartinger, was also honored with a bronze medal.

Doppelsieg beim C3 Award

But that’s not all! Last week, at the Manager’s Meeting of the CommUnity International network in London, we were delighted to receive two more awards. The C3 Award recognizes the best work of all 33 member agencies from the network. And we were able to fly home with a silver medal in the category “Best Member Collaboration” for the Hartinger Christmas mailing and a bronze medal in the category “Best Rejected” for the unpublished project for the life and social consultants in our luggage.

The awards show us that our work is not only successful with our customers and in their sphere of influence, but also attracts international attention. And this motivates us to always dare something new and to go one step further. We would like to thank our customers and partners for their trust and good cooperation. The awards belong not only to us, but also to you!

Remote arbeiten? Ja, das geht! Unsere Grafikdesignerin Valentina verlegt ihr Homeoffice für einige Wochen in den Süden Lissabons. Im Blogbeitrag gibt sie uns exklusive Einblicke in ihr plötzlich portugiesisches Leben.

Ab in den

Süden

Am Weg ins Büro? Oder doch in den Urlaub? Vielleicht auch irgendwie beides.
Mein Weg in die Arbeit hat diesmal etwas länger gedauert: 2 Stunden Busfahren, ein paar Stunden am Flughafen verbringen, knapp 3,5 Stunden Flugzeit und eine interessante Taxifahrt. Eine etwas lange Anfahrt um täglich zu pendeln – klar. Gut, dass ich mich entschieden habe, gleich etwas länger zu bleiben.

Die Sehnsucht nach Sonne, Meer und Abwechslung hat mich in den Süden getrieben. Aber nicht wie für gewöhnlich in den Süden der Steiermark, sondern in den Süden von Lissabon. Ich habe mein Homeoffice in ein Apartment in Caparica verlegt.

Im täglichen Morgen-Call fühlt es sich an als hätte sich nichts verändert (außer, dass es plötzlich ein besonderes Interesse für das Wetter an meinem Arbeitsplatz zu geben scheint). Tagsüber bin ich mit meinen Kolleg:innen, wie auch im Homeoffice zuhause, verknüpft: Wir telefonieren, haben Meetings und auch die regelmäßigen Kundentermine sind – wenn man sich erst mal daran gewöhnt hat, eine Stunde „hinten” zu sein – kein Problem.

Beim Ausflug zum Bäcker in der Mittagspause hat sich aber schon einiges getan – der Pastel de Nata Vorrat wird täglich aufgefrischt.

After Work

Adventures

Anstatt nach der Arbeit an der Mur zu spazieren, wird jetzt am Meer spaziert. Laptop zuklappen und in 10 Minuten am Surfbrett stehen oder das Leben in Lissabon erkunden, steht aktuell unter den üblichen To Do’s, wie Mails beantworten und eben dem Alltag als Grafikerin auf der Liste.

Nach meiner Zeit im “Homeoffice” werde ich meinen Aufenthalt in Portugal noch verlängern. Je nach Lust und Laune lasse ich mich die Küste von Portugal entlang treiben. Einen genauen Plan gibt es nicht – Neues entdecken, die Abwechslung genießen und Inspiration für zuhause sammeln.

Wir sind auf alle Fälle schon sehr gespannt, was Valentina noch alles erleben und erzählen wird und wünschen ihr viel Spaß und viele Abenteuer während ihrer restlichen Zeit in Portugal!

On September 1st 2023, Hartinger Consulting celebrated its 40th anniversary with a big summer party in the newly renovated office together with clients, partners, and friends.

40 years of consulting, designing, producing, and creating. 40 years in which we have created corporate designs, campaigns, websites, and media from analogue to digital. 40 years in which we have networked nationally and internationally. 40 years in which we have been and still are one of the best-known and most renowned advertising and communication agencies in Styria.

Our summer party!

Many hours of work went into planning the perfect summer party up to the smallest detail. Exhausting, but it was worth it. With over 150 guests, including friends, family, long-standing customers, and national and international partners from the CommUnity network, we celebrated this anniversary under the motto Reframing Hartinger. Reframing Hartinger invited guests to look at the agency and our work from a new perspective. A very successful party – many thanks to everyone for coming!

Sepp Hartinger founded the agency in 1983.

In 1989 the agency was build.

In 2014 Susanne Hartinger took over as CEO.

In summer 2023 the agency building was renovated.

On 1 September 2023, Hartinger Consulting becomes property of Susanne Hartinger.

New office

Workplaces of the future

The reframing concept also made its way into the offices. The special thing about the agency building, which was built in 1989, is its own construction with lots of wood, large glass surfaces, open spaces and galleries. In the summer of 2023, it was remodelled, making our already very cosy office even more comfortable. With new floors, walls, colours, furniture and a new layout by workspace, we can now implement our Reframing Hartinger motto even better.

The importance of communication in coping with challenging times was demonstrated by this year’s award ceremony for the Styrian Green Panther advertising prize. On November 25, the winners were chosen and this year we also brought one of the highly coveted trophies in gold to southern Styria.

Three nominations

Even a nomination for the Green Panther, the country’s most prestigious advertising award, is a high honor. Among the 270 entries, we prevailed no less than three times and were pleased to receive the following nominations: in the Event category with the drive-in sponsorship for the FH Campus 02, in the Out of Home category with the Silberberg Wine Trail for the Fachschule für Land- und Forstwirtschaft Silberberg and in the Campaign category with the 2021 spring/summer campaign for INFECTED – Kastner & Öhler.

And the winner is…

This year, the award ceremony took place without an event and fringe event, but that didn’t dampen the excitement. From a distance, we followed the livestream and lo and behold: 1x gold for Hartinger Consulting for the customer FH Campus 02 and the drive-in sponsorship. We are very happy about the award! The trophy has already arrived well in Southern Styria and may join our pack of now 59 Green Panthers (32 in gold, 14 in silver and 13 in bronze).

Special times require special ideas

The fact that the last one and a half years were marked by challenges and changes was also evident in the communication and event industry. That’s why FH Campus 02 took a very unusual route to provide its freshly graduated alumni with an unforgettable celebration moment despite Corona requirements: it held Austria’s first drive-in sponsorship on 30.09.2020. The media response to this creative response to the pandemic was great beyond Austria’s borders, boosting the university’s profile and image. We are very pleased to be able to accompany an extraordinary project like our client’s drive-in sponsorship and thank them for their trust and the great cooperation!

What a week! CommUnity International Managers Meeting together with Creative Forum is always something special and this time it was really brilliant. Hartinger Consulting GmbH was not only the largest team with 7 participants, but also left quite a mark. Why the network and especially meetings like these are so important for us, I have summarized in an article. I’m looking forward to your thoughts, feedback and comments!

What's the point of this network anyway? What is it good for?

Hartinger Consulting has been involved in various international networks for more than 30 years. Looking beyond the horizon is only one of the motivations. Rather, we simply believe in the power of togetherness. Learning together, working together, getting through crises together and growing together. That’s quite something. And when you add celebrating together to the mix, you get an energy that is irresistible.

In work(flow)

In the last days 30 agencies from 31 countries met in Portugal for the CommUnity International Meeting. 70 participants – 70 great personalities. The exchange among owners, managers and executives takes place in the CommUnity network twice a year. In addition, once a year there is also the Forum, in which the employees from the agencies face a big challenge: They are divided into mixed teams on site and are given a real client briefing to work on for around 48 hours before presenting their findings to managers and the client. This means they first have to get to know each other, find out what skills they have in the team, work on the briefing and then perform a small miracle from concept to graphic implementation to presentation.

There’s plenty of distraction in the process. In this case, there was quite a bit of sun, pool, beach, ocean, incredible sunsets, cool locations and even cooler people. And yet, once again this year, we were overwhelmed by the dedication, skill and energy of our staff!

And what is the real point now?

Learning from each other: Best practices, trends, methods and tools, developing solutions to common challenges. We are all independent, owner-managed agencies. Without any competitive thinking, with a lot of urge to grow together and always at eye level.

And ask our team members what they learned in 2 days of working with people from other agencies, other countries, other work environments and other languages 😉

Valued partnerships: Full service is no longer something that can be covered in house. But we can say with certainty that we have the right partners for all challenges. And the beauty of it is that we work together because we want to and not because we have to. Meetings like this are also necessary for that. That’s where an agency address becomes a friendship you can trust.

Inspiration: Presentations, trainings, keynotes, but above all the many conversations with the most diverse personalities, provide a real fireworks of ideas. My block is once again full of new approaches, which I would like to discuss and implement with the team as quickly as possible.

Self-awareness: Hartinger Consulting plays an important role in this network. And we also provided some highlights in this meeting: The presentation of our successful recruiting campaign by Frank Wonisch was one of them. Herbert Teichtmeister was on the winning team at the Forum right from his first appearance. Carina, Valentina and Nadine also did great in their Forum teams. And we were able to take home 2 of the coveted C3 Awards for our work last year.
